Webinar Tomorrow: Managing During COIVD-19: Community Development: CDBG, HOME, ESG

Join NAHRO and Acting HUD Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development (CPD) John Gibbs from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. eastern tomorrow, May 13, 2020, for a discussion on CPD’s response to the COVID-19 emergency. With a focus on CDBG, HOME, and ESG, Acting Assistant Secretary Gibbs will provide an update on CPD’s efforts to provide communities with access to waivers and supplemental funding and provide insights into CPD’s actions to address the COVID-19 crisis. Following the update, Acting Assistant Secretary Gibbs and his staff will join us for a moderated question and answer session.

HUD SNAPS to Hold “Office Hours” Webinar on 4/10/2020 from 2:30 pm to 4 pm ET

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs will host another virtual office hours tomorrow (4/10/2020) to discuss COVID-19 planning and response from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm ET for homeless assistance providers and their partners. Presenters from the following agencies will be in attendance:

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC);
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD);
  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA);
  • National Healthcare for the Homeless Council (HCH); and
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

USICH Publishes “Planning and Preparing for COVID-19 (Coronavirus)” page

The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness has published a page titled “Planning and Preparing for COVID-19 (Coronavirus).” The page provides both recommendations and further resources on preparing for potential COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreaks and their impact on people experiencing homelessness. The page will be updated regularly.

HUD, CDC, VA, and HCH to Host COVID-19 Planning and Response Q&A

Tomorrow–March 13, 2020 from 2 pm to 3 pm ET–HUD, CDC, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the National Healthcare for the Homeless Council (HCH) will host an “Office Hours” session to discuss COVID-19 planning and response. Before joining the question and answer session, please review the webinar recording titled “Infectious Disease Preparedness for Homeless Assistance Providers and Their Partners (or watch below).”

Participants do not need to register in advance, but it is strongly recommended that they join the session 15 minutes in advance of the start time (1:45 pm ET).
